I have had a most fortunate life filled with a variety of experiences. I grew up in Britain and after completing a PhD in some of the early studies of how genes interact with and control our metabolism, I then made a drastic change. For the next forty years I worked with on international spiritually-based organization called Moral Re-Armament and now called Initiatives of Change. I was involved in reconciliation efforts in the Middle East and also the Soviet Union before and after its break-up. I have been married to the love of my life Anne for 41 years and we make our home in the Boston area. After an early retirement, I have returned to my passion for biology, doing botanical field work as well as much scientific reading. I now consider myself as an agnostic non-believer. Evolution is not just a theory anymore folks. It's true, and as we accept its truth and therefore our origins as a species, it will help us understand what's a healthy lifestyle as well as give us insights into that tricky nature of ours. So this is my opener. I will write things from time to time, and invite your comments.

Hello. I am in my seventies, have had a lot of unusual experiences around the world and consider myself extremely fortunate in the family and friends that I have. Also because my training was in the biological sciences I think all this gives me a helpful understanding and perspective on life. Through this blog I intend to share these insights and invite comment.
